Evening Bandpass, Vinyasa & Ashtanga workshops

November 20 @ 7:00 pm - November 23 @ 9:00 pm

VND000 - VND570

Please feel most invited to join these workshops and welcome him “home” again!

Dylan returns to Ho Chi Minh after having called this magical place his home in 2002, 2005 & 2006. Since leaving Saigon, he has taught on four continents and established busy Mysore programs in Hong Kong and Bali. This visit will mark his first yoga teaching in Vietnam in over a decade! He feels a deep gratitude and connection with Vietnam.

Dylan will deconstruct the Ashtanga system and explain his perspective on a safe, healthy and illuminating practice. All participants are welcome and should consider coming each night to gain maximum benefits. The group will practice parts of the primary series and also focus around a different aspect of asana each evening:
Monday – Fundamentals of Flow
Tuesday – Intelligent Backbending
Wednesday – Resolution: The End of Primary
Thursday – Seamless: Jumping Through and Back. Some pranayama and short sitting practices will also be explored.

Mysore Sadhana Self-paced Morning Practice, 8 – 10 am, Open to any with some established Ashtanga practice.

Dylan holds a Master’s Degree in Buddhist Studies, has been authorised to teach Ashtanga by the Shri K Pattabhi Jois Ashtanga Yoga Institute and has the highest certification available from Yoga Alliance stashed away in a drawer somewhere.

Essentially, Dylan remains a pluralist, believing in many kinds of truth and many manners of realization. Though entertainment is not his focus in teaching, there is always room for laughter in his classroom. Ashtanga Vinyasa coupled with pranayama and other sitting practices continue to be the foundations of his understanding and teachings.

Dylan had the good fortune to be introduced to yoga and zazen meditation in 1988, at the ripe age of 14 and a half. Since then, he has called upon the practices to engage the body, still the mind and seek more subtle expressions of self. Though the soil and conditions around him are often shifting, the practices keep him grounded internally, allowing for stability even when in the midst of change.

A lifelong interest in Asian philosophy, culture and poetics brought him to reside throughout Asia, where he has maintained his home base since 2001. He has learned immensely both by traveling widely and by living in Vietnam, India, Bali and Hong Kong. In addition to time spent in Mysore with Shri K Pattabhi, Saraswati and Sharath Jois, Dylan has been blessed to connect with many other dear senior teachers. Time spent working and residing in the monasteries of Venerable Thích Huyền Diệu has also proven immensely insightful.

Dylan has taught on four continents and continues to be influenced by many teachers and diverse traditions. Perhaps his primary inspiration has become his dynamic and inquisitive students. He is forever indebted to all the teachers, students and fellow practitioners who have helped him along the way.

Dylan holds a Master’s Degree in Buddhist Studies, has been authorised to teach Ashtanga by the Shri K Pattabhi Jois Ashtanga Yoga Institute and even has the highest certification available from Yoga Alliance stashed away in a drawer somewhere.

A student of teaching techniques, Dylan has a background in pedagogy and cognitive development. His classes are designed to put students into direct contact with their own true internal teachers. Yoga has never been limited to āsana for Dylan and yet, he values the critical role that the physical practice can play in bringing light to one’s whole being.
