Yim Bader is a local jewelry designer and owner of her namesake brand YB Designs. Her passion for wearing and making jewelry started in 2005, first as beading arrangements with wood beads and assorted stones, then over the years she experimented with more intricate details and statement pieces. She loves to create unique, complicated and one-of-a-kind designs. At the end of 2006, she broadened her range and learned how to make wire- wrapping jewelry. “I always made a little swirl, inspired by ocean waves and the serenity of nature. In the summer of 2009 on my first trip to Hawaii, I had an opportunity to learn techniques called the herringbone weave and the chainmaille mesh. My signature style is to combine these two techniques together, creating bespoke, fun and beautiful designs,” says Yim.
She recently opened her concept store named Hand & Soul in Thao Dien where you can find her full range of rings, earrings and necklaces. She also works with many independent designers who also make handmade products with “love and soul.” Outside of managing the shop, Yim also runs a chainmaille technique workshop at the store, hoping to share and inspire others to create unique handmade jewelry.
