The first annual Genius Chess Tournament, organized by Genius School of Chess (GSC), took place last month at Saigon Outcast with a total of 60 participants. Groups were di- vided into four age categories, with the youngest at five years old, to battle it out on the chess board. While some components spoke difference languages they all shared a love for chess. Chess brings many benefits to the intellectual development of children, and also opens up an opportunity for families to bond as parents can play with their children. GSC said the success of this tournament is a great foundation for them to organize more competitions in the future for those who passionate about “the game of kings.”
