Frederik Farina is inspired to kayak 40 kms because he wants to improve the survival of newborn infants in Vietnam.
This is a truly unique challenge connecting the world of hospitality and local NGO, Newborns Vietnam, to make a difference to the life chances of thousands of newborn infants in Quang Nam and Da Nang. On Saturday 1st April Frederik will paddle 40 kms up the Hoi An waterways and along the coast to Da Nang to make some very special collections from restaurants and hotels along the route with special events at the waterside as he greets friends and colleagues.
His paddling adventure will start at Anantara resort in Hoi An at 9am and a celebration lunch at Cargo Café, Nguyen Thai Hoc Street, hosted by Ms. Vy at 10am—friends and supporters are welcome to join! Frederik is expected to finish around 4pm at the Hyatt.
Local NGO Newborns Vietnam aims to save babies starting from their first breath – advancing neonatal intensive care in Vietnam to help close the gap between developing and developed world standards of newborn care. Their work addresses the critical shortage of nurses, trained health workers and basic specialist lifesaving equipment.
In 2015, neonatal mortality accounted for three quarters of all infant deaths in Vietnam and more than half of the mortality rate in those aged under five. Save newborn lives, Support the “Kayaking Chef.”
