The States That Have Legalized Marijuana So Far 2021

Are you interested in the legalization status of marijuana, especially in the United States, and want to learn more? Do you want to know where in the United States you could visit and still be able to smoke a joint legally?

The legalization of marijuana has been a hot topic in the United States for decades. The idea that weed should be legal is gaining momentum, with more states legalizing it every year. What’s interesting to see is how many people are still opposed to the legalization of weed despite its medicinal purposes and economic benefits.

There are so many different opinions on this matter but there doesn’t seem to be any solid answers when it comes down to whether or not marijuana should be legalized nationwide. Regardless of these opinions, marijuana and related devices, such as dry herb vaporizers, are available online at stores like MagicVaporizers, and even many physical headshops. This post will explore some of the states that have legalized marijuana throughout America. Continue reading to find out more.

Connecticut

The first state we have on our list is Connecticut. Here, you will find that cannabis is fully decriminalized and legalized. In Connecticut, you can buy cannabis from dispensaries for both medicinal and recreational use.

Medicinal use was legalized in the year of 2012 whereas the use of marijuana for recreational purposes was only legalized much later in July of this year. With the legislation of both medicinal and recreational cannabis, marijuana tourism has started to grow in popularity and more and more dispensaries are popping up around the state.

Arizona

Arizona is another state in the US that has fully legalized the use of cannabis. On top of this, it has been decriminalized and is also legal for the use of medicinal and recreational purposes.

Medicinal marijuana became legal in Arizona in the later part of 2010. As a resident of Arizona, you can grow up to 6 plants in your residence and legally possess an ounce of marijuana at any point in time.

Cannabis consumption is reserved for those who are 21 years and older.

Massachusetts

Next up we have Massachusetts. This state is yet another we can add to our list of places in America that have fully legalized the use of cannabis and marijuana.

Here you can consume cannabis for both medicinal and recreational purposes without any kind of repercussion. As of 2016, cannabis has been legalized for recreational use and became legal for consumption and growth for personal use.

In 2018, the first legal marijuana sales took place from 2 different headshops.

New Mexico

Yet another fully legal state when it comes to the consumption of both recreational and medicinal marijuana, we have New Mexico. Here you will find that cannabis possession, sale, and use have been decriminalized and consumption is now fully legal.

In March of 2021, a vote took place to decide whether recreational marijuana use would be legal, and this bill was passed in April of that year.

It is said that sales of marijuana in New Mexico will start no later than April of next year and that adults will be allowed to possess 2 ounces of cannabis at any given point. They can also grow up to 6 cannabis plants.

Nevada

Home to the most amazing gambling places in the world, Nevada is the last place on our list that has fully legalized and decriminalized the use, sale, and possession of cannabis.

Since mid-year in 2017, the use of recreational cannabis has been legalized in the state of Nevada. This has brought growth in tourism to the state as well as to its most popular city, Las Vegas.

Legalization has brought on a wave of new business from tours of different cannabis places, different dispensaries, and even cannabis experiences like cooking classes and more.

Here in Nevada, you can legally possess up to 3.5 ounces of marijuana at one time, given that they are older than 21. You can also grow up to 6 plants if you are further than 25 miles away from any marijuana store.
