Our first Oi Reader Photo Contest was such a hit, we’re bringing it back for May - which means more chances for you to win some fantastic prizes from our partners!
In light of our Indochina Issue for May, this month’s photo contest has the theme:
Indochina
• Selfie in front of Angkor Wat?
• The temples of Bagan in the early morning mist?
• The floating markets of Thailand?
• A special place in Vietnam?
PRIZES: This contest will have two winners, 1) a Fan Favorite and an 2) Oi Favorite.
(1) Fan Favorite Prize: A one night stay (with breakfast for two) at the fabulous Ana Mandara Villas Dalat Resort & Spa.
Ana Mandara Villas Dalat Resort & Spa is a 72 room resort, set in the rural highlands of Dalat, Vietnam. placemats and napkins featuring people gathering around food & street scenes of yesteryear - the busy & beautiful Dong Khoi Street/Rue Catinat of Saigon and the fascinating Hang Ngang Street / Rue des Cantonnais in Hanoi. Prize valued at VND 1,300,000.
HOW TO ENTER:
1. Send us your photo. There are lots of ways to do this.
• Upload your photo to your favorite social media channel (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram) and send us the link. (Make sure your post is public so that we can access it!)
• Upload your photo directly onto our Facebook page or send it to us in a Facebook message.
• Email your photo to us.
2. This is the important step: Email your entry to us with the following information to: contests@oivietnam.com
• your full name
• telephone number
• a link to your photo
• If the photo in your link isn’t at least 800 x 600px (better yet: 1024 x 768px), then please attach a higher resolution image to the email
• brief 1-2 sentences about your photo (where was it taken? who’s in the photo? what makes it special?)
That’s it! On the 12th, we’ll upload all the entries to our Facebook album and send you a link to the album. (If you submit after the 12th, we’ll upload your photo within 24 hours.) Then, tell your friends to vote for your photo! (We’ll also help by promoting entries on our timeline.)
The contest closes at 8am on the 23rd, and winners will be announced in the following month’s print edition of Oi Vietnam (winning photos and runners up may even be published!)

Now on to the fine print:
• To enter: You must first become a Facebook Friend of Oi Vietnam. You may enter only once as an Oi Vietnam Facebook Friend. Entries must be received by the 18th of each month to be eligible.
• Judging: The Fan Favorite winner will be determined by the number of likes it receives in Oi Vietnam’s Facebook album. The Oi Favorite will be determined by Oi editorial staff. The decision of the judges will be final. Winners will be notified via email or telephone and must be able to retrieve prize(s) from Oi offices within 30 days of notification and show your ID. Prizes left unclaimed after 30 days will be forfeit.
• Eligibility: The contest is open to those 18 years of age or older as of date of entry. Oi staff are exempted from participation. Photos must be taken by the entrant or must legally belong to the entrant.
• Release: By participating in this competition, each entrant grants Oi Vietnam the right to use his/her individual name and submitted photograph in any medium, for contest publicity & promotion purposes, without further compensation, except where prohibited by law. (By this, we mean winners / honorable mentions may be published in the magazine or photos posted to the contest page on Facebook… nothing else, we promise!)
• Who won: Winners will be announced in the next month’s edition of Oi Vietnam. Print copies are available at these locations. The online version is downloadable here.
