Tran Thi Thu Ngan – YWLIN Ambassador in Switzerland, receives a certificate for her contribution to the Child Drowning Prevention Fund in Vietnam
Recently, in Hanoi, Mr. Nguyen Duc Hanh – Chairman of Vietnam Watersport Association – had a meeting and handed out a certificate of merit to Ms. Tran Thi Thu Ngan – YWLIN Ambassador in Switzerland – for her contribution to Child Drowning Prevention Fund in Vietnam.
Joining the meeting and ceremony of Merit to Ms. Thu Ngan, was Ms. Le Thi Thanh Hoa – Director of High-tech Beauty Salon Thanh Hoa, Hai Phong Province. Opening the meeting, Dr. Nguyen Duc Hanh – Chairman of Vietnam Watersport Association, shared his knowledge of the Association as well as the Child Drowning Prevention program. Vietnam Watersport Association was established in 1963, functioning as managing water sports over the whole country, including: swimming, water polo, synchronized swimming and diving. Currently, the Association has become an official member of the international sports organizations International Swimming Federation (FINA), the World SCUBA Diver federations (CMAS), Asian Amateur Swimming Federation (AASF), Asian Underwater Federation (AUF) and the Southeast Asian Swimming Federation (SEASF). There are more than 40 provinces, cities and branches working in the same field related to the Association over the country.
Dr. Nguyen Duc Hanh also shared that faced with an increase in children casualties by drowning in recent years due to lack of swimming skills, Vietnam Watersport Association considers the mission of universalizing swimming in all schools over the country as a key task in the activities of tenure from 2013 to 2016. Since then, the Association has come up with an initiative of establishing the Child Drowning Prevention Fund in Vietnam.Along with the efforts from Ms. Thu Huong – the world runner-up lady, Founder and members of Women Leader International Network, within one month, the program received the support of the 3 participating companies and 16 individuals.
One of the practical works that attracted the attention of the young community is the auction’s paintings holding by an overseas student Tran Thi Thu Ngan – YWLIN Ambassador in Switzerland. The entire proceeds of 100 million VND has been transferred to the Child Drowning Prevention Fund. “I think this is a very practical action, which is of great social significance. Though being young and studying abroad, she is already aware of her social responsibility to the country. I am extremely grateful. Therefore, Vietnam Watersport Association held a meeting to make the decision of awarding a certificate of merit to Thu Ngan. This is a deserved recognition for her great contribution to the program for drowning prevention. And I also hope more and more entrepreneurs, businesses and young people will get involved with the program – Mr. Nguyen Duc Hanh shares.
Tran Thi Thu Ngan is honored to receive this token of merit. She said that she would continue to study and contribute to the community. Moreover, she wishes to be associated with Child Drowning Prevention program’s activities.
Joining the ceremony, Ms. Le Thi Thanh Hoa: “Since being a high school student, Ngan had been actively involved in social activities,sharing a part of her savings for charity work. I will continue to motivate and encourage her to continue participating in this important activity.
Ms. Le Thi Thanh Hoa also announced that Thu Ngan has made her decision to join the Miss Vietnam Global Identity. Thu Ngan hopes throughout this international competition, she will be an ambassador and have the chance to promote the beauty of Vietnamese people, culture and tourism, firstly in Switzerland, then other countries.
As a young Vietnamese , Thu Ngan is aware of the responsibilities to her beloved homeland. She would like to use her youth and knowledge gained overseas to contribute to the Vietnamese Community and people who are struggling. In particular, she wants to use the voice of a young generation to deliver the pictures of a dynamic Vietnam integrating in the world through its culture, traditions, people and beauty.
Intelligence, bravery, independence, a sense of communal responsibility and a strong desire to promote Vietnam’s beauty to the world, Thu Ngan sets an example for pride and admiration.
