On October 27th, the 24th floor of the ABTower was taken over by a sea of pink, all in honor of promoting breast cancer awareness. The event was organized by financial planning company Globaleye, with all proceeds going to Breast Cancer Network Vietnam. Complete with pink cocktails and pink party favors, the cause was kept very much at the forefront throughout the fundraiser. A presentation on breast cancer by Dr. Hong Anh, from International SOS, was a stark reminder of the real reason we were all attending. It provided a critical insight into the risk factors for women in developing breast cancer and outlined how to spot potential warning signs, with particular emphasis on the message that early detection is key.
Inspirational cancer survivor Paula Portheine made a special appearance. She courageously shared her story, using her traumatic experience as a platform to promote awareness. She followed up her speech by teaming up with Hien, of Breast Cancer Network Vietnam, to further raise funds by selling bracelets modeled after the breast cancer awareness logo. The evening rounded off with an announcement of the raffle winners. The coveted prizes included a bottle of pink Moet Champagne, a one-month membership to the Landmark Health Club and 4 Vespa Adventure tour vouchers.
Thanks to a wonderful night of fundraising and awareness, almost £1,000 was raised for the charity. Nobody could deny that Globaleye did an inspirational job of bringing a room full of women of all ages together in support of each other. Ultimately, the evening was a moving display of the power and solidarity of womanhood.
