At the 2018 Hotel of the Year Awards, La Veranda Resort Phu Quoc MGallery by Sofitel wins the ‘Best Luxury Boutique Spa Resort Worldwide’, a first-ever win for the country of Vietnam.
The Hotel of the World Awards is a recognized global organization honoring luxury hotels around the world for its service excellence and world-class facilities. The Awards is unique to the hospitality industry as it offers fully recorded inspections of each official nominee also followed-up with comprehensive inspection reports reviewing current guest services and facilities.
Aside from winning the prestigious recognition as the ‘Best Luxury Boutique Spa Resort Worldwide’ for Vietnam, La Veranda Resort also took the No. 18 spot among the Top 100 Resorts Worldwide 2018, a list published during the announcement of winning properties.
The Hotel of the Year Awards has an in-depth vetting process that includes a committee of experts screening hundreds of hotels, resorts and spa properties yearly. Each contender passes through a well-rounded vetting process taking into consideration standard of service, facilities, guest experience, social media and, guest reviews on top of tallying votes.

Established in 2006, this 70-room luxury boutique resort, part of the MGallery by Sofitel collection, is the first luxury property on Phu Quoc Island. Located centrally on Duong Dong beach, La Veranda provides an experience evocative of a French colonial mansion by the sea. The Best Luxury Boutique Spa Resort Worldwide 2018 is the latest win among a long list of major achievements of La Veranda Resort Phu Quoc through the years. Late last year, the resort won the coveted Oscar awards of the hospitality industry being named by the World Luxury Hotel Awards as Asia’s Luxury Romantic Beach Resort 2017. With its Hotel of the Year Awards, La Veranda receives a total of 3rd awards won for the year. Earlier this year, the property was awarded both TripAdvisor’s 2018 Traveller’s Choice and 2018 Certificate of Excellence.
